6 pack Legend killers kill Malta
Legend Killers created a storm at
the Legendary Arena in the second round of the cup match against Malta
Falcons.Having lost the first leg 3-0, hardly anyone had hoped that
Legend Killers will go through to the next round.All the odds were
against the young side of Legend Killers.But some changes and a bit of
magic from the players ensured that Malta Falcons were humiliated with
a 6-0 drubbing.
Legend Killers manager Sunny had started the match with a strange team.He had rested first team regular players Thomas Kuszack, Danny Simpson, Possebon , Scholes, Krkic and Torres.He started with some younger players like Van Der Sar, Campbell, Vidic.The most surprise inclusion was of Ole Gunnar Solskaejr whose career at Legend Killers was unsure and had not played a game for months inspite of being fit.
Legend Killers didn't had to wait much long to score their first goal when Campbell smashed the ball into the back of the net after Carrick's pass in the 9th minute.Then Tevez managed to score a goal after a neat one-two with Campbell.Malta Falcons were already and the backfoot and there was some more bad news for the Falcons as they had 2 players injured in space of 4 mins.Their captain Lenny Hislop limped off the pitch whereas Gustavo Dalmonte had to be carried off in a stretcher after a challenge from Elton Kohl.The first half ended 2-0 with Legend Killers missing a couple of chances to score the 3rd goal.
The team was very confident and the manager just told the boys to keep playing the way they did in the first half and also advised Ronaldo to go a bit more further to try to score goals.
The second half started just as the first half did with the Killers dominating the match.Ole Gunnar Solskaejr marked his return to the first team with a goal in the 55th minute from a Owen Hargreaves pass.Killers were themselves defending a corner.The corner was taken poorly by Malta and the goalkeeper threw the ball straight to Owen Hargreaves who chipped the ball over the Malta defenders.Ole made a terrific run and finished the work by easily getting round the goalkeeper and putting the goal in the back of the net.The atmosphere inside the ground at that time was terrific.Everyone was chanting Ole's name.
There were only 12 minutes left and Legend Killers were desperate to score another goal to try and prevent the match from going into extra time.Malta Falcons were sitting deep into their half and the Legend Killers defenders were playing as attacking midfielders.Even their goalkeeper was standing at the half line.
Gary Neville made a terrific run in the right flank and made a cross in the box.Solskaejr controlled the ball beautifully and set up Ronaldo with a Back-heel.Ronaldo didn't waste any time and took a wonderful shot which the goalkeeper had no idea what to do.And yes, once again the crowd erupted like volcano.There were smiles all over.Malta Falcons were devastated.They didn't knew what to do.
The match restarted and Ronaldo made a unbelievable run in the left flank.The defender somehow put his legs and put the ball out for a corner.Owen Hargreaves took the corner aiming the ball towards the far post.Vidic and Ronaldo both jumped for the ball.Even the goalkeeper came there to collect the ball.Vidic had his armed raised and his elbow striked Macedo's mouth.The goalkeeper hopedd for the refree to give a free kick but the referee didn't saw the foul and Ronaldo's header found the back of the net.
The match again kicked off and Malta striker passed the ball to Owen Hargreaves instead of passing to his player.Hargreaves put a cross in the box and Solskaejr put the ball int the back of the net with his header.Malta were gone by that time.3 goals and 4 minutes.Even their 5000 odd supporters who had come all the way to support their team started booing them.
The match ended with Legend Killers cruising in a 6-0 victory.
The manager Sunny said;"That is what happens when somebody defeats us.Hopefully we will be able to continue our winning streak."
