League Finale(Match-day 14) Preview:The Champs

For the 3rd time in a row and 4th time out of 5 in LXM history, the league title- the Top division honours- Winner of The Champs, will be decided on the LAST day of the season! And this time, like never before in history, 4 teams are in consideration, although admittedly one of them is a long-shot. Bad Boys, Gunners, Rocking11 and Sparks United all go in with a chance- some with an overwhelming chance and others with not so much of it...

Bad Boys vs Gunners

This is the 3rd time that Bad Boys are one of the contenders for the title on the last day. On the last match-day of Season 1, Empyreon FC thwarted Taimoor08's side to win the title. Last season, Sparks snatched away the title on the last day as well and Bad Boys will want to set the record straight and avoid getting a reputation of last-minute chokers. And COULD their task be any tougher? They face another title rival- Gunners. When Gunners, Stallionz and Leeds were promoted to The Champs last season, everyone predicted a repeat of Season 4- all promoted teams to get relegated. But Gunners have cemented their spot in the top division for next season and have a VERY good chance of winning the title if they beat Bad Boys. They do need to hope for a Sparks draw or loss too...

Leeds United vs Sparks United

Leeds are going to be heading back to life in the 2nd Division after a total of 10 points from 13 games has left them 8 points from safety with 1 match to go. Even after beating the former greats of Viva and RMC at home and drawing away at the same teams, failure to beat none of the other teams throughout the league season has left them bottom of the table for sure. But you can tell that they would like NOTHING more than beating the defending champions and title contenders Sparks United and deny them back-to-back titles! As for Sparks, they need to beat the league strugglers and hope that Bad Boys drop points at home to Gunners. A draw will most probably mean that they will lose out on the title...

Viva Kerala vs Rocking11

Viva Kerala, like Leeds, will be playing LXM 1 football(which is of no less quality, mind) next season. But they will want to go out with a BANG and a message that they will definitely be back. Rocking11 are yet another team that are "mathematically" in contention for the title, but one does not see Viva Kerala losing by more than 9 goals and hence, we might as well write off Arsalan08's team. But they are playing a team against whom they have a good record, but that's the only positive. The match remains wide open, of course...

Stallionz Fc vs Real Madrid-Champs

Stallionz are on a 2 match losing run, but might as well turn out to be fired up after the Cup final loss and want to bounce back on the last day. If they needed any more motivation, they have it in the form of the prospect of league survival! If they beat RMC, they will overtake the two time champions and be saved from relegation hence also sending RMC to LXM 1. A draw or loss won't do, though. As for RMC, as mentioned before, they need at LEAST a draw to confirm survival in The Champs! To make matters worse, they go away from home: they have a atrocious record away from home this season, winning NOT EVEN ONE match! Moreover, they are yet to beat Stallionz Fc in two attempts and were knocked out of the Champions League by them. It is the only battle for survival on the last day of the season!

------------TITLE WINNING CONDITIONS------------

Bad Boys - Win, nothing else SHOULD do. But technically, if they draw, they need to hope that Sparks draw or lose. By far the team that has it easiest on this league finale day.

Sparks United - They need a draw or loss from Bad Boys. And even if they win and Bad Boys DO lose, they need them to NOT lose or rather they need Gunners NOT to win by more than the margin by which they beat Leeds! Arguably the team that has most to worry, because they have two teams that could knock them out of the position of Champions facing each other!

Gunners - Win, i.e. beat Bad Boys and hope that Sparks lose or draw away at Leeds United. A draw will not suffice for them in whichever scenario. Even if they beat Bad Boys, they will need luck in form of Sparks United slipping up.

Rocking11 - This team and their manager Arsalan08 probably realise that they have a VERY VERY small chance of winning the title. They need to hope that Sparks and Bad Boys lose and THEN, also win against a team no smaller than VIVA KERALA and that too away from home, by a next-to-impossible margin of 9 + the margin by which Gunners beat Bad Boys. But, with no disrespect to Viva, nothing is impossible and hence, they are included as one of the last day title contenders...

Best of Luck to ALL teams that are in with a shout for the title or top division survival! May the best managers win!

The Cup Final Team Review 1: CaNoN Rock

One would assume a team sitting 3 points from the top of the Champs would be packed with nothing but quality.
One would also expect a team that are currently frying eggs on their hot-o-meter would have better form than 13.
Add to all of this, injuries, retirements and attempted mind games and you could draw the conclusion that all is not well in San Fransisco.

As a defensive unit, Stallionz look strong if they play a four man back line with a defensive mind...
