Extra-Ordinary win for Pirates
Manager Eshan Patil was surprised
when his team has taken away all the three points against Just-Extra
Ordinary who were hot favorites to win this match. Current form of
Black Pearl told all the story of the game. Just Extra-Ordinary were
only in the game in the early stages and after that it was all Black
Pearl. Ryan Buhagiar given visitors the lead in only 9th minute but
their lead was short lived when Pirates equalized from 25 yard strike
from Ally Selbie. James Ahmed then given the lead to Pirates for the
first time in the game in 39th minute and made it 2-1. There were
plenty of chances for Pirates in the 2nd half as they dominated whole
2nd half but there were no goals. Pirates hold on to their lead and
taken away all the three points.
Manager Eshan Patil was surprised by visitor's performance and hailed his team's spirit.
'I am surprised by the way our today's opponents performed. Everyone definitely expected better from them.'
'I think it as clear as fresh water that my team deserve all the three points. Although the scoreline tells us the match might had been close but it was a bit nervy for us so credit goes to our defense as well.'
'We were good in the whole game. We controlled the ball well in the 1st half and used the possession very well. I think it is one of the best performance from the team.'
Black Pearl are right now sitting on the 2nd with 7 points same as of the leaders.
'Right now nothing can be told. Our target is of course to finish at a respectable position this season. We have played only three games so far and we have done very well. I am confident that my this form will last as long as possible. Its just a dream start for us.'
