Glorified, at last !
Empyreon FC has been chasing dreams
of winning the league title from a long time. However their dreams
turned into reality when Empyreon FC won the league title for the
second time in its history. The victory was more special as they have
been crowned champs with a match still left ! Empyreon defeated
mid-table Top Guns in a thrilling match which saw some injuries, some
cards flashed and also the ball finding the back of the net, an
impressive 6 times.
A brace from Alastair Ness, and solitary goals from Todd Clode and Harry Ertl saw off a match, whose first half was dominated by Top Guns. Contrastingly, the second half was dominated by the 'Emperors'. Jeremy Zipper was injured in the first half and that was the only blemish on the excellent performance by Imran Shaikh's side.
" I am extremely happy with the win, especially because it has won us the league title. I knew that the players had in them, the willingness, the determination and the skill to win it. though its bad we missed out on both the cups, I am extremely happy with the current crop of players. Looks like we have a long weekend to party. " Said the manager, was was in a joyous mood after a long, long time.
The win has got them promotion to 'the champs' and Empyreon FC will play with old rivals Bad boys, RMC and Spark Utd from next season onwards.
talking about their next match, it seems Imran Shaikh is going on a holiday with some veterans from the team and his assistant coach will be given the 'privilege' to handle the team for once, entirely on his own.
lets see, what the 'next-to-best' has in store for us.
