Higuaín rescues RMC with debut goal!

Real Madrid-Champs were looking at an embarrassing start to the season, their worst ever, with all previous season-starts being phenomenal ones. A glorious 1st minute penalty save by Rocking11's goalkeeper and their man of the match Mukesh Amarfal from Real's defender Rory Ravenhill, who previously had a 100% record in penalties scored, left home fans thinking it was again not going to be their day against Rocking11. The away team had prepared well, but got a few things wrong tactically on the day, even though they got some important tactics right. Approaching 80 minutes, Wesley Sneijder, who has saved RMC many different times with his contributions in crunch matches ran through, around and past no less than SIX players to feed 17 year old striker Gonzäló Higuaín, who was making his first team debut after breaking all sorts of youth team records and scoring 73 goals in 54 matches since he joined, aged 13! Higuaín made no mistake, even against the big boys of The Champs, and beat in-form Amarfal with a powerful shot to save Real from their 3rd consecutive league match without a single goal! Rocking11 had no reply for the remaining 12 minutes + injury time, and RMC celebrated their first win in the league, and also 3 valuable points which puts them just 2 off of the top of the table!

This is the second player who has scored on debut after being promoted from the youth team of Real Madrid-Champs after Zinedine Zidane's heroics in the dying games of last season! The 4 season long reputation of the RMC youth structure for not producing good young talents is slowly beginning to change.

Sujith Krishnan was relieved after the match and expressed thankfulness for the 2nd time in just a few weeks of actual league, for a debut goal and a debutant- "Gonzäló was very good today. I though he was very pleased with the service from the midfield, although his link-up with his fellow strikers could improve a lot. All in all, a satisfying result and performances from players. Roberto(Carlos) was magnificent also, I thought..."

The match had Raúl and van Nistelrooy playing alongside Higuaín, but Raúl's long range shot was saved by Amarfal and van Nistelrooy's Free-kick was just over the cross-bar. The win means Real will go into their next league match, at home against bottom of the table Leeds United with great confidence. Before that, though, after their Cup exit, RMC have arranged a home friendly against Bad Boys and are intent on winning the always-high-profile meeting as well...
