Late glory for Pirates
Pirates are off with a wining start
of the campaign as they managed a hard fought 2-1 win over Trinity
United with a late header from Inzamam Sheikh. Sumant Bhatia gave
Pirates the lead only in 3rd minute. Pirates were looking a bit sloppy
after that as they missed a series of chances. They were finally
punished in the 2nd half after the quick counter attack from Trinity
and Eugene Tinkler was on the score sheet. Inzamam Sheikh then scored
the wining goal at the 89th minute and gave Black Pearl all the three
points.
'It is very good to start the campaign with a win. We fought hard for every ball everywhere on the pitch and also created a good number of chances.'
Manager was once again was furious with his side's finishing.
'You can see when we got the 2st goal their was a tempo in our play and we created a god number of chances again but once again we lacked the clinical finishing. We were lucky to not to concede goal for long time but Trinity did got their equalizer in the 2nd half. The strikers needs to work more harder with their finishing.'
Manager was impressed by the strong defense of Black Pearl and said their good defending can prove vital in the future.
'When you have seen the players failed to get their 2nd goal the defenders worked harder to hold on the lead. I think we should really gave credit to them.'
