Lightning struck twice !
Indeed, Lightning has struck Empyreon FC twice. Their recent cup quarterfinal loss was very disheartening as the team was going on a dream run, reaching the quarters of a cup for the second time. In the previous season, Empyreon had reached the semi finals of the cup and were a win away from gaining silverware.
The manager was disappointed as It had happened twice with the players. " They ( players ) worked hard to reach till here and I feel sad for them. We were so near, yet so far from reaching our 2nd consecutive semifinal. Hopefully, we will try more harder the time we enter such crucial stages."
The reporter questioned Him about the team being complacent and he replied, " Complacency and Empyreon are like poles apart. The players are not a bunch of kids to think that reaching the quarters is like reaching the finals. the tension increases ten fold with every round of the cup completed. I make sure that those who think they have achieved something, don't feature in my plans."
Empyreon face Fugly FC in the next round of the LXM 1a tomorrow. " the team is playing wonderful football at the moment, I have some great match winners here and I think they have what It takes to be champions. Now I am not being complacent here !!! " said the manager in a humorous tone.
Empyreon FC has not won silverware since their debut season, last-day victory over old rivals Bad Boys got them their first league title.
The manager has promised that IF he doesn't wins anything this season, He will leave the club through mutual consent and the BOD are willing to hand him the resignation letter, duly approved.
