Spetsnaz win shootout
Just a week ago, Immortalkickass
said his team was lucky to have won 1-0 in the cup to avoid penalties,
because he hated it. And now? Spetsnaz are forced to go through the
shootout when the match with Dunhill Players ended 1-1 at full time.
The result? Spetsnaz won it narrowly 5-4, with a plethora of penalty
misses from both sides.
New boy Kasim Isovic opened the scoring in the 24' with a shot from a Chochlakov corner. Spetsnaz then proceed to dominate the first half with plenty of possession and a couple of chances. The second half was mostly Dunhill Players trying to get back into the game, and got it also from a corner, scored by Marcus Stewart.
Extra time's chances mainly came from dangerous freekicks, one of them which Monarev nearly scored when it hit the post.
Penalties ensued, and it was like a tug-of-war with both teams taking the lead twice. Dunhill Players lead 2-1, then Spetsnaz led 2-3, then Dunhill again 4-3, and finally Spetsnaz won it 4-5, despite a shocking miss by 'Hero' Vadim Yushkevich when he shoot straight at the keeper.
"What a match. If I were 60, I swear I would've died of a heart attack anytime during the match. The penalties was the craziest shit I ever saw. I gave up so many times and see some hope again, then give up again, and so on. It went on like this for so many times, even after we win, its unbelievable. I will need time to digest this win."
