The Bernebéu gets brand new grandstands!
Amidst all the
transfer controversy between Bad Boys and Hurricanes Snrs FC, Real
Madrid-Champs are abiding by their promise for the silly season- not
buying anyone. Yes, it's always been trend to bring in some names. Last
season, they were Ruud van Nistelrooy and Roberto Carlos, and two youth
academy products in Iker Casillas and Pepé. This time, although there
were some interesting offers from RMC for Bad Boys' Alfredo Peralta, in
a deal connected to Mahamadou Diarra and David Beckham which would see
Bad Boys shell out another million for the pair, the talks have been
postponed indefinitely due to the very confusion mentioned at the
beginning of this article. It seems now, that RMC may want to wait
longer- till next season, even- to let their midfield's pillars be
replaced...
Manager Sujith Krishnan said yesterday- "We did have talks. And among the other deals discussed were Beckham and Sneijder for Peralta and Israel- which I now think is not the way to go either. All the players have contacted me and expressed their desire to keep the team's togetherness intact."
Also, very pre-mature and not reliable rumours suggest that striker Ferenc Puskás is linked with an exit. But Krishnan FIRMLY denied these mutterings.
"Unless something TOTALLY unforeseen and huge happens, I see NO reason why ANY striker will be leaving this season."
Asked about the transfer saga of Locke- an LXM version of the Ronaldo saga, Krishnan added- "Let this youngster with Snrs- what's the name- Locke? Let him go anywhere he wants. Sparks, Bad Boys, stay with Snrs or leave the league, I don't mind in the least. Sure, both Taimoor08 and Arun0714 have asked me for my opinion and I've told both of them he'll be a great acquisition- and he WILL be, in whichever team... But here at RMC, we don't NEED a striker now, and even if we did, we don't have the resources, I think, to get a guy so talented and sought after by other teams- well, at least we don't right NOW."
Meanwhile, RMC are more interested in the FANS at the moment. They have introduced a completely brand new section in the stands at the Säntiago Bernebéu stadium! This section is of high technology, with more comfortable seats plus with an arrangement for fireworks at the top of the stands! It also boasts a roof which can marginally change it's inclination according to the sunlight, to make sure the sun doesn't get in the way of fans and the game. The whole thing has cost RMC sponsors Soundic Radio almost 3 million econ, and was part of their sponsorship deal with the club, if they won back to back titles- which they did in Seasons 2 and 3. It has taken another full season to complete the construction.
Naturally, the ticket price for these stands are a bit higher than other ones- 15% more, to be accurate. But the club will offering discounts for some special matches.
Krishnan had a comment on the development, as well- "It's good that fans are getting something back for their support. It's high time we did this. After hearing the new features, I think the club President and the Board members will want to watch from there, rather than the VIP box!"
The Bernebéu's ground staff were thrilled with the addition, and hoped the ticket sales would be off the roof for them. A Soundic Radio spokesperson told that they were "grateful that Real have put our funding to great use". The new section is to be inaugurated in a friendly match in just under a week, against newly returned-to-the-league friend of Sujith Krishnan- Eshan Patil's team, Black Pearl Pirates!
In other news, striker Raúl has agreed a new 5 year contract with a 75% wage increase, getting him well into the top tier of the Wage Structure, RIGHT past 8 players and making him the joint-top earner alongside Sergio Ramòs!
