The Cup Champions Celebrate

Viva celebrated its first silverware since season 2, after beating city rivals Sparks United in the cup final. It was yet another gritty derby game between the two, with Viva winning the match 2-0 after the game went to extra time. There was a victory parade in the grey half of Kochi with thousands gathered to cheer the team on.

Viva had not won anything for the last three season despite coming very close to the league title two times. The disappointment of those seasons were added on by the devastating league campaign Viva had last season. "Its a relief to win something again. Viva deserve it. We've been cautious about matches since the start of this season, we didn't want to repeat last season again. And the cautious approach has paid of indeed we had a string of matches against top opposition and we came through it finely, but last weekends home loss to Gunners was a real eye opener for everyone. That meant we had to win the cup, it was for the fans.", the manager said ecstatically.

Coming back to the league, Viva beat Stallionz F.C 0-2 to stay with the competition in the top flight. The players were in excellent form with Viva dominating the match uncharacteristically away from home."The players just enjoyed themselves. they are just brimming with confidence and it showed. We have a really mean defense this season, which we didn't have last time around. And the goals are just starting to come. But i really do think things will get better for us. We will try to be a bit more ruthless in our attacking from now on. We need goals."the manager said.

Just 1 point separate the top five in the league and Viva can capitalize on it next matchday when they face city rivals and bottom of the table Leeds United. Viva fans cannot be too confident because even the SHITtiest of teams can pull of a surprise.
