Vieira wins it for Pirates
There were very fascinating matches
played in round 7 here in 2a division. But the most entertaining match
was on Earth Stadium were OMG ITS MY TEAM were entertaining Black
Pearl.
The action started right from the start as Pirates tried to dominate the opening minutes. Ally Selbie opened the scoring only in 5th minute from a deflected shot from corner. It has taken only 7 minutes for Pirates to find their second goal of the game when Langra Deepgur made an athletic header on goal.
Just after a minute Toni Jovic bought OMG back into the game with 30 yard strike. Toni Jovic was once again in action in 25 minutes on the clock when he made a great run right from his own half and given a quality delivery to Paranjal Vaale who put the ball into the empty net. It was a great break from OMG ITS MY TEAM.
Pearl manager could not believe that they had lost their two goal lead in only 13 minutes. But Pirates came back into the lead after four minutes when in-form Stevie Johnson made a brilliant finish.
It was less than 30 minutes and game already got its five goals. OMG got their equalizer for the second time in the game as Goswami made a great strike on goal in 37th minute.
However there weren't many goals in the second half. Pirates promising youngster Patrick Vieira got his first goal for the club in the 79th minute as he headed the ball home after poor defending from OMG ITS MY TEAM. The game ended dramatically for Pirates who has seen their lone striker got sent off in 88th minute for a stupid handball.
Black Pearl manager said,
'Well it was a fantastic team for us. We were playing against a good OMG team and it is fantastic to beat them away from home.'
'This week was difficult for us and players deserve the credit for giving such a great reply to the defeat they faced in last two games. That is a sign a good professional footballer.'
On rising of young Vieira he said,
'He was brilliant today. It was important for him to get his first goal and his goal was very important for us too(he laughed). We will definitely going to see more from him in the future. For now he will remain grounded.'
