Viva vs Madrid- Part IX!
Viva Kerala vs
Real Madrid-Champs, some may say, is no more the eye-catchy, top 2
clash it once used to be. But all the same, it is a rivalry never made
official or never much mentioned. Tomorrow, what was called for the
best part of 2 seasons "the fixture of all fixtures" will arrive again-
the ninth official edition of the "El Classico of the past". The 8
fixtures so far have resulted in NOT A SINGLE draw, and are evenly
divided 4-4. EVEN goals scored in those 8 fixtures cannot separate
them- 13 for Viva, 13 for Real. But it is only understandable, that
Viva fans have much more value for a win that RMC fans- they're at
home, and more importantly, were beaten to the title TWICE in the last
few hours of the 2nd and 3rd seasons, by Real.
After arguably starting out on the wrong foot, both teams are no doubt desperate for their first win in the league. This Viva side are the strongest he has yet faced, according to Real Madrid-Champs manager Sujith Krishnan- "They have quite a few quality players and it will be tough breaking down their midfield and defence. We have prepared well for the match, and expect a positive result tomorrow."
Asked if his focus is shifting slightly more to the Cup than the league, Krishnan said- "I underestimated Stallionz, I admit. We played Fernando(Hierro) and Pepé instead of Roberto(Carlos) and Sergio(Ramòs). And their teamwork values did a great deal of help to them, while our midfielders were and are still getting adapted to each other. And to top it all, the 3 forwards I chose on the day couldn't put an end to the 2 chances that midfield made. But we've covered the weak areas for tomorrow, and expect a cracker of a game! And you ask why do I use more or less the first team in Cup matches nowadays? Because I've done the exact opposite in Cup matches in the past and you know what happened then..."
Although Krishnan hinted here, that he will be playing the best defensive four of Brooker, Ravenhill, Carlos and Ramòs, there are some rumours of fitness issues and maybe last minute changes...
